Welcome, All! We invite you to join us in learning and having fun in the SCA Life Village aka Gambitland. We also offer teaching space for those who may be seeking class space at the ‘End of the World.’ Join us in one of the oldest Permanent Structure Encampments at the War on Queen’s Hwy. Often mistaken as the entrance to Early Period life, we joke that we are ‘Middle Period Life’. Our cottages are an eclectic collection of “not quite period but close” buildings, from hand-built on-site to store-bought and everything in between.
Clan Gambit Foundry offers a wide variety of classes that will interest everyone:
Historical Research Based Classes: metal casting, embroidery, herbology, woodworking, everyday medieval life skills, heraldry, performance arts, textile arts, brewing/vinting, canine history, glass arts, basketry, vernacular architecture, experimental archeology, and costuming, to name just a few.
SCA Life Classes: Officer training, Heraldry (court, voice, field, book), costuming you can live and work in, textile arts, disguising modern items, finding your ‘family/tribe’, and many many more topics.
We are proud to offer a wide variety of classes for all ages and all skill levels, including the younger War attendees, if suitable. Young people must bring along a parent or responsible adult per site and society rules. Please check the schedule for classes and age limits.
Even if you aren’t interested in a class, you are welcome to come visit our Household and hang out with us. Maybe even talk about teaching next year!
