Equestrian Activities
PLEASE NOTE: The information below was accurate for Gulf Wars XIX (2010) and is listed here for your reference only with the understanding it may change at any time. This will be updated for Gulf Wars XX (2011) as soon as the information is available.
STALL RESERVATIONS
Stall reservation deadline is February 19, 2010. No reservations can be accepted after that date. Horse stalls at Gulf Wars XIX will be reserved a bit differently this year. In the past, there was a per stall fee of $75, however this year the stalls can be reserved, on a first come/first served basis, with only a monetary donation of your choosing.
Stall Reservation checks should be made out to SCA, Inc, - Gulf Wars. The memo line should state "Stall Fees" and indicate the number of stalls needed. Also, please indicate your driver's license number on the check. Because this is a donation, the stall reservation fee is non-refundable. Any donation made is only for your stalls, not the event in general.
Please send reservation information and fees to:

HORSE AND RIDER REQUIREMENTS
All horses attending Gulf War XIX require a current copy of their negative Coggins paperwork. Please email a copy of your negative Coggins to the EqMIC (listed below). Please bring your original to the war. Although health certificates are not required by the SCA, Gulf Wars, Kings Arrow Ranch or the State of Mississippi, they may be a requirement of your state to return with a horse. It is recommended that you verify what travel documents you may need to travel to and from the war.
Stalls tags will be provided at Equestrian Check In. Please provide the owner's name, cell phone number if possible, any special needs or concerns for the horse and camp location information and alternate person to contact in case of emergency.
PROOF OF AUTHORIZATION
For horse owners whose Kingdoms-of-residence have an equestrian authorization program, please show your authorization card at Equestrian Check in.
There will be no original Equestrian Authorizations at Gulf War XIX with the following exceptions:
* If your Kingdom has authorization marshal(s) in attendance you may upgrade your existing authorization. Please make individual arrangements with one of your Kingdom's Authorizing Marshals for any upgrades.
EQUESTRIAN ACTIVITES
There will be plenty of opportunity at Gulf Wars to celebrate the equestrian arts for those who love to horse around. Please see the Equestrian Schedule for detailed times and locations.
RULES OF THE BARN
* Minors should be under adult supervision at all times while in the Equestrian area.
* Please do not feed or touch any of the horses without permission from the owner.
* A red tassel on a horse indicates that the horse may bite or kick. Do not approach this horse.
* Horses startle easily. Do not run, jump, yell or make sudden movements around the barn.
* The barn closes at sunset to everyone except horse owners.
* Please, no loud parties or drumming in the Equestrian area after 10:30 pm.
